Principal's Message

Welcome Back to Creekside for the 2026-27 School Year!

Dear Creekside Families,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to the new school year as the proud Principal of Creekside Elementary. After serving as Creekside’s Assistant Principal, I am honored to continue the incredible work that makes this such a special place. I look forward to getting to know your children, your families, and our community even better in the months ahead.

I am a proud UCLA graduate who began my teaching career in Los Angeles before relocating to Poway. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving as a special education teacher, general education teacher, impact teacher, and most recently as an assistant principal at Chaparral Elementary, Monterey Ridge Elementary, and here at Creekside. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that every child deserves an exceptional education in a school where they feel valued, supported, and inspired.

This year, our focus remains on two key priorities: delivering high-quality instruction and nurturing a deep sense of belonging for every member of our school community. Our dedicated educators are committed to engaging students in meaningful learning experiences that challenge their thinking, spark curiosity, and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We want every child to know they belong at Creekside and that they are capable of achieving great things.

I believe the strongest schools are built through meaningful partnerships with families. Your knowledge, experiences, and perspectives are invaluable, and I welcome the opportunity to learn from you. Please feel free to reach out to me with your thoughts, ideas, and feedback as we continue to build a strong, connected Creekside community together.

Please be sure to stay informed about campus happenings by reading our weekly communication, The Gecko Gazette, which is sent out to all families on Friday afternoon. Regular teacher communications will also keep families informed about classroom learning, important updates, and upcoming events. Our Creekside website is another wonderful resource for real time announcements and our most up to date calendar. Updates and highlights regarding campus activities can also be found through our school social media channels.

We are so excited to welcome our learners back to campus on Thursday, August 13, 2026  and begin another amazing year of learning, growth, and connection together.

Thank you for welcoming me into this role. I am honored to serve as your principal and cannot wait to begin this journey together. I look forward to an incredible year ahead filled with learning, connection, and Gecko greatness!

Warmly,

Cynthia Chambers
Principal, Creekside Elementary
