Welcome to Creekside

Terry Worthington, Principal

Dear Families of Creekside,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of Creekside Elementary School. I am honored to be joining the Creekside team and look forward to working alongside each of you. I have been part of the Poway Unified School District for more than 20 years and have an extensive background in both elementary and special education. I have spent the past 15 years as the principal of Deer Canyon Elementary School. I am truly looking forward to getting to know all of you as we start our journey forward together. 

I am a firm believer that all students should have access to a kind and caring community where they feel safe, included, and empowered to achieve. I believe in the importance of embracing the whole child and supporting both academic and social-emotional growth. Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to make sure that every child feels seen, heard, represented, part of our school and community as they prepare for a fast-changing future. My goal is for students to leave Creekside with Gecko Greatness, amazing memories, real world skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

As your principal, my focus will be to build quality, lasting, and trusting relationships with all stakeholders, inspire staff to strive for continual personal growth, and ensure that all students have a safe and inclusive learning environment in which to thrive. Most importantly, I will collaboratively carry out the vision all stakeholders have for Creekside Elementary School. I look forward to working with the school community to make this the first of many amazing years with Creekside families.

I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you as we walk together into the 2023-2024 school year. Please stop in and say hello. My door is always open. I am so happy to be part of the Creekside community and Gecko Greatness!
